Here at Cromwells we serve the very best of Traditional British food! Established in March of 2000, we’ve recently expanded our team and had a bit of a face-lift. You can read more about that on our blog.
We’re pleased to announce we’re now officially award winning! We’ve gained a Taste Liverpool Quality Assured accreditation.
We aim to serve good honest food at a very reasonable price. We don’t believe in measly portions on a plate. A common complaint is that the portion sizes are too big! And just like our customers, our tables fill up fast!
As soon as you walk into the restaurant, you’ll be captivated by the “just out the oven” smells and the beautiful, colourful presentation of our food. By evening (we’re open from 5.30pm Wed-Sat) you’ll enter into our cosy and intimate candlelit haven.
Every dish featured on our menu is freshly prepared on the premises using quality, locally sourced ingredients. Our meat is from Derek Massey & Son Butchers in Heswall and is cooked by Kate Allinson, our Head Chef with over 20 years experience.
To accompany your meal we have an excellent wine list, including a full bodied, slightly spiced Australian Shiraz Cabernet and a light, crisp Californian White Zinfandel, making for fine food and fine wine.
The Cromwells Wirral bar also stocks a vast array of spirits and liqueurs. Alongside favourites old and new we also feature some more hard to find gems. For instance Sheep Dip, a smooth blend of Scottish single malts producing a light, slightly spicy mouth-watering flavour that Kate & Kay found on their recent travels. They thought it was so good they brought some back for their customers to try!
The restaurant seats up to 30 people, and we always welcome groups and parties. We’re one of the only restaurants on the Wirral to NOT charge for exclusivity of the room. Book for 15 or more and it’s yours for the day/evening. We also provide bespoke menus and opening times for large bookings.
Special occasion? Birthday? Anniversary? We’ll take care of your every need on the evening. Just tell us what you want and we’ll do it for you. From flowers on the table to balloons or even a particular wine or liqueur, we’ll try our very best, and often at no additional charge. Just ask for Kay when you call.
